About Me

I am a senior scientist specializing in bioinformatics, brain science, and oncology at BGI-Research and CAS (Chinese and English). I earned my bachelor's degree in 'Applied Physics', and my Ph.D. in 'Genetics' from South China University of Technology. Over the years, I have contributed to numerous landmark international genomics research projects, including the giant panda genome, polar bear population genomics, the Genome 10K (G10K) project, the Cancer Single Cell Project, and the Human Cell Atlas.
I am also a co-founder of the Spatial and Temporal Omics Neuroscience Consortium (STOC-Neuro) and serve as a member of the secretariat for the Mesoscopic Brain Connectome Project (MBCP).
To date, I have published over 50 peer-reviewed SCI papers, which have collectively garnered more than 10,000 citations, with an H-index exceeding 30. Among these publications, I have authored 21 as the primary author (first author, co-first author, or corresponding author), including six in top journals including Cell, Nature, and Science.

Interests & Hobbies
Outside of scientific research, I am passionate about outdoor activities and physical exercise. My main hobbies include wilderness hiking, badminton, swimming, and recently acquired skills in skiing and cycling. I believe regular exercise is essential for maintaining a healthy lifestyle and serves as the best way to stay relaxed. Exploring mountain trails not only keeps me physically active but also provides mental space for free thinking and creative inspiration.
